 My dear Chase,

You and Hayden and Lorelei spent a week with me just before your school started and it was so nice to have you here.  You are such a joy and such a good boy to have. 

You asked me what the crack of dawn was because Papa said he wakes up at the crack of dawn.

You sure love Lucy.  It is so nice for you to be able to spend time with her.  You feed her and walk her and make her do tricks and want to cuddle her all the time.  You do have to share with Lorelei sometimes, but you usually are the one who is quicker to the food and water etc.  You really want Lucy to sleep with you and she just won't leave Papa, so you asked if you could get in bed with us when you wake up in the morning and I said of course, you can come in bed any time and you said, even 3:00? and I told you of course. So, the next morning you were there cuddling Lucy. 

One of the days we all went to Aunt Staci's to swim and have dinner. After everyone was finished swimming you were all going to change into some dry clothes and you come running to the door naked to ask me where your dry clothes were.  There was no embarrassment and Aunt Sommer said "Oh he is definitely a Rock, running around naked" haha

The day you were getting ready to leave to come here you sent me a text and this is what it said "I'm excited to see you today grandma I wish I could just be with you right now"  Imagine how I felt getting that text.  I love you Chase!

We went to a lighthouse, went on a creek walk, went to a zoo. Rode horses at Lynette's house and went on the boat, to do some tubing.  And went to a big birthday party.  You  had a ball.

 My dear Chase,

I sure love you.  You and Hayden and Lorelei just spent a few days with me and Papa after the July 4th.  It is so nice to have you here.  You are such a good and fun boy to be around.

One night, we weren't doing baths, so I said to you all to wash your hands and face and you said "with a hose???"  I am not sure where that came from, but cracked me up.  I asked your dad how he gets you kids clean.

You love Lucy so much.  You told me you whispered to her that you loved her and you were leaving for a month, but you would be back and you sure hoped she would remember you.  
One night after you went to bed, you came back out and asked for a paper and pencil and wrote a note and put in your bag.  I peeked at it and it said "Lucy loves me because licked me and that is how dogs show love"

When we were taking you home, Papa was telling you guys about the Indians who went through the woods near the turnpike and about the Declaration of Independence and I said I am sure they don't know what that is and Papa said Well, we just had July 4th, what was that for? and you said "a holiday" haha

you had a great time at the lake house and here with us and your cousins. and we sure loved having you here

 My sweet Chase,

Papa and I went to your house last weekend to see everyone.  Before we got there, you asked your dad if he thought my hair would still be brown.  Haha.  I asked you if I should let my hair turn gray and you said no, you want it brown.

We went to a fishing hole because you wanted to try a new lure that Papa bought you and when we were walking down this hill, there were a couple guys sitting there fishing and one kinda had his head bowed down and he was smoking a cigarette and the way his head was it did look weird, but you said "Why is he smoking in his nose"  haha, we laughed about that because kids are never quiet and I am sure he heard you say that.

I love you and you are getting so big.  I can't believe how grown up you are getting. 

Remember to always keep a positive attitude and be the best you can be.

 Oh Chase

You are such a character and I love you.

The other day your daddy was face timing me and he was holding the phone and you crawled up on the couch behind him, stand up and pull your peepee out and I said "oh Chase, what are you doing!!" and of course your dad turns around and yells too.  And then you were so embarrassed you didn't know what to do, so you asked to look at the phone and hung up on me.   Boys, sometimes they think to do things and there is no  reasonable explaination!  

You are such a very smart young man and you will be able to do anything you set your mind to.  Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.  You are very determined and will do very well.
